Treadmill Smart Speed is designed to communicate your treadmill running speed from your iPhone or Apple Watch to a receiving device. It utilizes the same Bluetooth communication protocols as expensive running footpods.

You have the option to choose your preferred speed input method:

<ol>
 <li>Select the speed at which your treadmill is moving in the app, which is then transmitted via Bluetooth to your receiver.</li>
 
 <li>Secure your iPhone to yourself and run. The iPhone's motion sensor will estimate your speed and send this information to your Bluetooth receiver. *This option will be discontinued in future versions; please rely on Treadmill Mode or Watch Mode for accurate data.*</li>
 
 <li>Combine your phone with your Apple Watch. The Watch will provide speed, cadence, and heart rate data to your phone, transmitting these metrics to your Bluetooth receiver. (Workouts tracked on the Watch can be saved as part of your daily activity logs).</li>
</ol>

*New Feature*: You can now control the speed manually using the Apple Watch crown; tap the digital display to enable or disable this functionality.

 <li>TSS Watch Module - incorporates an Apple Watch for heart rate, cadence, and speed calculations.</li>
 <li>TSS Watch Module integrates with the Health App on your iPhone, contributing data to your Activity Rings after requesting relevant workout data permissions.</li>
 <li>For Mac connections, a BLE 4.0 connection is required. Mac mini and MacBook Air models have supported Bluetooth 4.0 since 2011; MacBook Pro since 2012; and Mac Pro since December 2013.</li>
